<p>Department Overview<br />
Environmental Management is committed to full environmental compliance and establishing our<br />
position as an environmental leader to support the companies&#8217; vision to become the leading utility<br />
in the United States. The Environmental Management Transmission Team supporting Gas<br />
Transmission Facilities team focuses on facility compliance with Air, Water, and Hazardous<br />
Materials and Wastes regulations.</p>
<p>Position Summary<br />
Responsible for supporting PG&amp;E’s Environmental Management Gas Transmission Facilities<br />
Team by providing support to a wide range of air quality issues, including Title V, EPA NESHAP<br />
ZZZZ, as well as local air quality rules and regulations. Position is located in San Ramon. Travel is<br />
approximately 25%.</p>
<p>Qualifications</p>
<p>Minimum<br />
• Working towards a BS/BA Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, Physics, Geology, or<br />
equivalent level of experience (students must be continuing education towards degree during<br />
and/or after internship).</p>
<p>Desired<br />
• Strong communications skills and experience in presenting to different types of audiences<br />
• Strong organizational skills and technical abilities<br />
• Comfortable working with Microsoft Excel and Sharepoint, as well as web-based databases<br />
• Interest in Environmental<br />
• Valid driver&#8217;s license (or the ability to obtain one within 10 days of start)</p>
<p>Responsibilities<br />
• Conduct research, gather data, and draft language to support the development of policies, and<br />
programs in their core environmental area(s) including any associated procedures or guidance that<br />
is necessary. Develop training content and investigate required training tools.<br />
• Organize both electronic and hardcopy data files, and if necessary, redevelop and implement a<br />
systematic database system for environmental records.<br />
• Coordinate data collection from various internal and external sources, review data for accuracy,<br />
and revise as needed.</p>

<p>Funded through the National Science Foundation, we offer a competitive stipend, free lodging and a travel to campus, and activities and events for outside the lab. You simply can&#8217;t afford not to take advantage of this opportunity. The 2013 SURE Program will run from May 28 to August 3.</p>
<p>Women and underrepresented minority students are strongly encouraged to apply. 				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>With the sponsorship of the National Science Foundation&#8217;s Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program the MRSEC on Polymers at the University of Massachusetts Amherst offers, to qualifying undergraduates interested in obtaining research experience in polymer science and engineering, the opportunity to join a faculty-supervised research laboratory in the UMass MRSEC for a ten-week period during the summer. The stipend for this program is $4,000 inclusive. In addition to their research responsibilities, REU participants will attend regular weekly meetings and special seminars throughout the summer.</p>

<h4>Overview of Undergraduate Research Opportunities</h4>

Download Internship Flyer</a> CMOP offers paid undergraduate internships headquartered at Oregon Health &amp; Science University’s west campus in Beaverton, Oregon. Interns receive a stipend of $4,600 and out-of-state students may be eligible for additional housing support at a local apartment complex.</p>
<p>CMOP considers applications from undergraduate freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors with backgrounds and majors in biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering, environmental science, mathematics, physics, and others. Prior lab/field experience is of interest but not required. Our past interns have come from a wide range of geographic and academic backgrounds, and have worked collaboratively in several innovative projects.</p>
<p>CMOP interns engage in leading-edge research to understand and predict biological, chemical and physical processes of the river-to-ocean ecosystem, contributing data and analysis that provide guidance for sustainable ecosystem management.</p>

<p>This program places students from community colleges into paid internships across the country at a DOE National Laboratory. Students work with scientists or engineers on projects related to the laboratories’ research programs. The CCI program is open to both U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents during the summer term for 10 weeks for students currently in working toward a STEM related degree at community college and with at least one semester completed.</p>
<h2><a id="orss" name="orss"></a><a href="http://www.acm.edu/programs/15/oakridge/index.html">Great Lakes Colleges Association/Associated Colleges of the Midwest,<br />
Oak Ridge Science Semester (ORSS)</a></h2>
<p>There are no citizenship requirements, but applicants must be undergrad students at institutions belonging to either the Great Lakes Colleges Association, Inc., or the Associated Colleges of the Midwest. Applications are due by March 1 each year.</p>
<h2><a id="here" name="here"></a><a href="http://www.orau.org/ornl/hereatornl/default.htm">Higher Education Research Experiences (HERE)</a></h2>
<p>This program is open to U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents who are currently enrolled in an A.S. or B.S. degree program with a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0, including those who have completed a B.S. within the past year. Opportunities are available for 10 to 12 weeks during the summer term; some sabbatical appointments lasting 6 to 12 months, plus some intermittent appointments, also are available.</p>
<h2><a id="tech" name="tech"></a><a href="http://www.orau.org/ornl/undergraduates/labtech/default.aspx">Laboratory Technology Program (TECH)</a></h2>
<p>This program offers full-time or part-time internship opportunities for hands-on training and experience while in school or as a recent graduate. Students must live within working distance of ORNL. Appointments are for up to one year; applications are accepted on a year-round basis. The TECH program is open to both U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents who are enrolled as an undergraduate at either a two-year or a four-year institution with one semester of coursework completed. Recent A.S. and B.S. graduates within one semester of graduation may also apply.</p>
<h2><a id="nesls" name="nesls"></a><a href="http://www.ornl.gov/sci/nsed/outreach/internship_nesls.shtml"><strong>Nuclear Engineering Science Laboratory Synthesis (NESLS)</strong></a></h2>
<p>This cooperative research initiative is geared toward students in physics and nuclear engineering. There are no citizenship requirements. Summer applications must be received by March 1 for a 10-week appointment.</p>
<h2><a id="suli" name="suli"></a><a href="http://science.energy.gov/wdts/suli/">Department of Energy (DOE) Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships (SULI)</a></h2>
<p>The DOE SULI program is a nationwide undergraduate internship experience that occurs at a National Laboratory. The program is open to undergraduate students that are either U.S.citizens or legal permanent residents. Students must have completed the first semester of college. Applications open on May 1 for a fall internship, September 1 for a spring internship, and October 1 for a 10 week summer internship.</p>
<h2><a id="vw" name="vw"></a><a href="http://www.orau.org/volkswagen/">Volkswagen Distinguished Scholars</a></h2>
<p>The Volkswagen Distinguished Scholars Program is limited to undergraduate and graduate students at 6 schools in the state of Tennessee (UTK, UTC, TN State, TN Tech, Fisk, University of Memphis). The program is limited to students who will be juniors, seniors, or graduate students still in classes.</p>
